Obituary

Virgie Mae Maynard, 68, of Spur, Texas passed away in Lubbock on Monday, April 1, 2024. She was born on June 15, 1955 in Austin, Texas to the late Buck Maynard and Ruby Newman. Virgie lived on the Coast for some time. Where she grew a love for dolphins, she loved it until the humidity just became too much. She later moved back home to Spur to be with her son, Jessie. She was a loving mother, who was very strong, and straightforward. She was a very nice and tender caring person as she was a CAN for many years. Virgie loved her job as a CAN, she worked with so much care and passion. She also had a strong love for Jesus, and would tell anyone that would listen about him. Virgie was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jessie and is significant other, Laura; siblings, Kathy, Jerry, David, and Jacob Maynard; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Ruby Maynard; and sister, Linda Maynard.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Llano City Cemetery in Llano, Texas.
