Sara Castillo Chavez, a lifelong resident of Lubbock passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born on October 21, 1946, to Rosalio and Rebecca (Flores) Castillo. Sara was an active member of the First Latin American Foursquare Church, she loved to sing. She was employed by University Medical Center in the Environmental services department and was named Employee of the year in 2007. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Manuel S. Chavez; children, Manuel Chavez and wife Camille Dillon, Isaac Chavez, and Esperanza Zambrano; two grandchildren, Caasi Chavez, and Christian Lopez; siblings, Rosa Villarreal, Paula Guerrero, Naomi Guerrero, Sylvia Salazar, and David Castillo.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalio and Rebecca Castillo, siblings, Esteban Castillo, Eulalia Ramirez, Mary Villarreal, Louisa Guerrero, Olivia Duarte, Esperanza Saenz, and Rosalio Castillo, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with an evening service being held at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
