Salena Ann Van Horn, 42, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully in the arms of family on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1982 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Tommy O. Sanchez and Delma McDonald. Salena was a bright soul, that had a special fire for her family. She was the mother of four boys, and they kept her on her toes. Salena met Richard James Van Horn in 1999, as they began their lives together, they married on February 25, 2006, and started creating more memories. Together they raised their boys to love the outdoors just as she did. They traveled, and spent numerous weekends at the lake, fishing and camping. Salena was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt to many. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard James Van Horn; children, Richard James Van Horn, Jr., Thomas Daniel McDonald, Logan James Van Horn, Jake Morgan James Van Horn; parents, Tommy and Delma Sanchez; siblings, Delma Ellis and husband, Mike, Tommy Sanchez and wife, Jamie, Becky Jackson, Daniel McDonald; Grandmother; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Salena was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Seran; grandma Ama and grandma Elisa.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Ave Baptist Church, with the Funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow services at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
