Rudy Velez, a lifelong resident of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the age of 51. He was born on May 22, 1970, to Ruben Velez, Sr. and Adela Aguilar Trevino in Lubbock. Rudy was known for being a peacemaker, he was the rock of the family, Rudy lite up any room that he walked into, his personality was so big, he loved and adored his family. Rudy was an avid Cowboys and Texas Tech fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Josie Esparza; five children, Mario Velez, Lexy Hernandez and husband Ryan, Savannah Velez, Rudy Velez, Jr and Samantha Palomo; six siblings, Norma Velez and husband Carlos Esparza, Victoria Velez, Robert Baigen, Moses Trevino, Nora Velez Ayon and husband Santiago, Sandra Palacio; stepfather, Jimmy Trevino; eight grandchildren and several extended family members Rudy is preceded in death by his parents Ruben Velez, Sr. and Adela Aguilar Trevino. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will ne held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation services under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.
