Ronnie Wayne Dunning, 69, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky on December 18, 1955, to Roy and Shirley May (Knoth) Dunning. Ronnie graduated from Hopkins High School early at the age of 17. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1973. Serving in the Air Force in different places, he spent many young years as an Aeromechanic for the Air Force before retiring after serving 20 years, retiring in 1993. Ronnie served from the time of the Vietnam era through Desert Storm. He loved fishing, hunting, and building muscle cars, or working on cars in general. He was a man of handy works. He married Dixie Woolverton on April 16, 2016. Ronnie was a loving husband, son, father, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dixie Dunning; mother, Shirley Dunning; son, Ronnie Dunning, Jr.; stepchildren, Pete Hext, Sucinda Hext, Amy Katherine, Hays, Vanessa Ann Shirley; brother, Michael Dunning; four grandchildren.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dunning; stepson, Paul Leander "Andy" McChesney.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. ~ 12:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
