Ronald A. Coffman was born on September 28, 1948, in Lubbock to Wilburn and Opal (Boldin) Coffman. Ronald was a preacher's kid so he moved around. His family once again settled in Lubbock where he graduated from Lubbock High School in 1967. Ronald was in the grocery business where he managed Furr's Supermarkets in Lubbock and New Mexico for over 30 years. He finished his grocery career managing the United Supermaket Bakeries. From here, he became an entrepreneur and began a new adventure with a traveling book fair called "Books Are Fun!" Ronald loved meeting new people and spreading the love of Christ in hospitals, call centers, and schools all across Texas. Ronald later went back to school at Wayland Baptist University and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Ronald was a faithful member of Southcrest Baptist Church for many years. He served in many capacities throughout the years. He most recently ran the "Golf Cart Ministry" making sure families made it to and from their vehicles safely. A relatively new ministry that Ronald participated in for the last few years was the "Good News Club". This is an after-school program in under privileged schools. He faithfully served in the program to give kids a safe place to learn about Jesus.
Ronald loved spending time with friends and family. His daughters and grandchildren were the light of his life. He attended anything and everything that they were involved in. Ronald had many different friend groups that he met regularly with to play games and was very close to his sisters as well. Ronald also rescued his dog, Princess. He enjoyed taking her to the dog park as often as possible. Ronald took every opportunity to love on people and tell them about the hope that Jesus offers.
Ronald is survived by his daughters and son-in-law's, Kasey and John Morales and Korey and Dusty Ellis; 7 grandchildren: Alex, Nate, Pierson, Joy, Sam, Jude, and Lucy; sisters, Dianne Coffman, Amy Lindsey and spouse Roger Lindsey; numerous nieces and nephews; and tons of friends and church family.
Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.
