Robert Nolan Orndorff, 85 of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022. He was born on January 11, 1937 in Winchester, Virginia to Nick and Mildred (Lewis) Orndorff. Shortly after his high school career, Bob joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for three years. He then joined the United States Air Force and enjoyed a twenty-year career before retiring in 1977. His career included service in Viet Nam and his family benefited greatly from the worldwide travel military life provided. Eventually Bob brought his family to Lubbock which became home where his Philadelphia accented greeting eventually replaced with a booming "Howdy," to those he met. A beloved family man, Bob married Toni Senones on February 8, 1958, in Cornwells Heights, Pennsylvania, and they recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Together they raised three children and had many wonderful family adventures/vacations together. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob worked as the office manager for Ted Ratcliffe Realtors. Bob then became a mainstay at Ellis Gun Shak where he shared his firearms expertise with customers from all around the South Plains. Bob was a longtime member and past Governor of the Lubbock Optimist Club. A Catholic by faith, he used his baritone voice as a lector at Christ the King Catholic Church. He also delivered Holy Communion to home bound parishioners. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Toni Orndorff; three children, Catherine Mousavi and husband Reza, Mike Orndorff and wife Becky, and Maureen Ebert and husband Fred; 14 grandchildren, Marjanna, Katie, Elizabeth, Rachel, Robert, Sara, Matthew, Melissa, Andrew, Michaela, Jeremy, Jason, Ashton, and Noah; and 11 great grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mildred Orndorff, and sister, Pat Quaglia. Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, with a catholic funeral being held immediately following at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lubbock, Texas. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.
