Philip Dan Welch, age 52, of Lubbock, Texas, was born to Rita Osborne Welch and Danny Melvin Welch on the first day of June in 1971. Rita named him after a Prince, Prince Philip of England. What a Prince he was. He was a motorcycle riding, demon fighting, dragon slaying Prince. He was a very smart, creative man. He was a genius. He had many skills and was very talented. He could weld or build anything. He was an artist. He was strong. He was brave. He was funny. He was honest. He was stubborn. He was always there when he needed to be. He was real, and he was really loved. A Dad. A son. A brother. A poppy. A best friend. A hero. A legend. He was ours.

In his sudden death on October 17th, 2023, he was reunited with his father, Danny, and his eldest son, Bradley Thomas Welch.

Missing and surviving him is his mother, Rita. His two brothers, Chris and Richard Welch. His sister Ashley Welch. His nieces and nephews. His three children, Karrie, Lacie, and Daniel Welch, and his three grandchildren, Stephenie, Tate, and Kaiya. Many friends also survived him whom he called brothers and sisters. He lived hard and died young. He will be truly missed by many. May he rest peacefully.
