Nicolasa "Nickie" Cantu Zambrano, 85, of Idalou, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1937 to the late Zacarias and Maria Soledad (Rodriguez) Cantu in Robstown, TX. Nickie met and married Jose Trinidad Zambrano in 1955 in Corpus Christi, TX, who preceded her in death in 1986. She worked for many years in the home health, caring for many people. Nickie has a very big caring heart and would help anyone or any animal. She was very strong-willed woman who loved her family. Nickie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ramona Bengoa, Nickie Zambrano Hill (Arch), Trinidad Zambrano, Jr. (Irma), Renee Zambrano (Roger), Michael Zambrano (Faith); brother, Zacarias Cantu (Connie); sister, Maria Elena Carr; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. Nickie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Trinidad Zambrano; son Rudolfo; daughter, Norma; granddaughter, Maria Soledad; sisters, Benita and Candelaria (Lala). Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. om Wednesday March 23, 2022 at House of Angels Funeral Home with burial to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
