Monica T. Garcia

Monica Garcia, 46, of lubbock passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1979 in Slaton, Texas to Benny Garcia and Neri Tovar. Monica met Josh Rodriguez and they began their family, spending almost 29 years together. Monica worked at Texas Tech for 18 years in hospitality services. She loved her job working for Texas Tech and being around the students. Monica enjoyed cooking, and always spending time with her family, especially her girls and her grandson. She had a laugh that was contagious, and always made sure everyone smiled. Monica was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Josh; daughters, Alaze Rodriguez (Anthony Prieto), Audree Rodriguez (Clemente Sanchez), Angel Rodriguez (Nico Sanchez); grandson, Jayvian Sanchez; siblings, Gracie Garcia, Anthony Garcia, and Christina Garcia.

Monica was preceded in death by her father, Benny Garcia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carlos Rodriguez officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
