Miles Edd Evans, Jr, 77, of Ropesville passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, in Lubbock. He was born on March 8, 1944, in Brownfield, Texas to Staff Sargent Miles Evans, Sr. and Jimmie (O'Barr) Evans. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Celest G. Evans; daughter, Rachael Jouett of Dumas, Texas; son, Kaleb Evans of Lubbock, Texas and grandson, Miles Jouett of Dumas, Texas. Miles was a loving husband, father and a friend to all that knew him, he will be greatly missed. Miles Edd Evans, Jr. was a man of strong opinions with a deeply rooted sense of right and wrong. He believed in helping others whenever he could. He believed in our great country and would have defended it with his very life, always honoring those including his father who had. He believed in family and loved us all fiercely. If you were his friend, he loved you too. He leaves a big hole that will never be filled and we cannot wait to see him on the other side where pain and sorrow will be no more. He was a member of the Ropesville United Methodist Church. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ropesville United Methodist Church.
