Michael Gene Davis

Michael Gene “Mike” Davis, 45, passed away on September 7, 2026. He was born July 5, 1981. Mike was a fun-loving man with a big smile, a great sense of humor, and a deep love for his family and friends. He was happiest surrounded by the people he loved, and he had a way of bringing laughter and life wherever he went. Mike loved to grill, and anyone who knew him knew that a good grilled chicken leg was hard for him to pass up. But as much as he enjoyed standing around the grill, nothing meant more to Mike than his family. He loved his wife and children deeply and treasured time spent with the people who mattered most to him. Mike will be remembered for his smile, his laughter, his love of a good time, and especially for the way he loved his people. His presence filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

He is proceeded in death by his best friend Sal; survived by his wife, Jamie Davis; his three children, Dominic, Brooke, and Kaylin and grandson Meziah (to be born in November); his parents, Cecil and Lorenda; his sisters, Susan and Jennifer; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Forty-five years was far too short, but Mike leaves behind countless memories that his family and friends will carry with them for years to come. Those who loved Mike will remember the laughter, the stories, the time spent around the grill, and that unmistakable big smile. Most of all, they will remember how much Mike loved his people—and how grateful they are to have been among them.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Live Free Indeed, 8701 Upland, Lubbock, Texas 79424. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
