Michael Ryan Avara, a lifelong resident of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the age of 25. He was born on June 29, 1997, to Jerry and Margarita (Fulton) Avara. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School.
He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Margarita Avara; fiancé, Madi Adamcik; sister, Nicole Stennett and her husband, Tucker; brother, Nathan Avara; grandparents, Jimmie Avara, Martin and LaVerne Fulton; and numerous extended family members.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Elton Patrick Avara, and his maternal grandmother, Dina McMullin.
Michael was well known for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh. He always made everyone smile and was an incredibly gifted communicator. He had a way with words that were sometimes lighthearted and playful, but also offered advice and comfort to those he loved. When Michael was asked his opinion, he would give careful consideration to his words, as he always wanted to be fair and balanced.
Although Michael worked in the hospitality and service industry, his true calling was supporting and helping others who were in need. He was a great listener, considerate, kind, and was a loyal friend that would go out of his way to help anyone who was struggling physically, mentally, or emotionally. He touched many lives with his compassionate heart and will be truly missed. Michael was a great man. He loved everyone and will always be loved.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park
