Melissa Lea Herrera, 44, of Lubbock, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born on November 7, 1977, in Lamesa, Texas to Miguel Cabrera Rodriguez and Nora Cortez. Melissa loved to sing, dance and enjoy a good lifetime move every now and again, however her favorite time was the time she spent with her children and grandbabies. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Juan Manuel Martinez; one son, Zachary Rodriguez of Killeen, Texas; four daughters, Alyssa Herrera, Abigail Herrera, Jessica Fant, and Nadia Herrera all of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Herman Vindiola, Isaiah Fant, Madison Vindiola and Rafael Fant; father, Miguel Rodriguez; mother, Nora Chavez; two brothers, Daniel Rodriguez, and Miguel Angel Rodriguez; two sisters, Patricia Guerra, Connie Hernandez. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. The Herrera family has requested that facial covering be worn during attendances of all services.
