Martin Adams, Sr., a lifelong resident of New Deal, passed away in Lubbock on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 60. He was born on May 3, 1962, to Mary Ramirez here in Lubbock. Martin graduated from New Deal High School in 1980 and he later began his career working on the railroad. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing softball, cornhole and going fishing. Martin always looked forward to family time and cook outs. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Isaac Adams, Misty Mendoza and husband Nathan, and Martin Adams; parents, Mary and Sereldo Ortega; life partner, Adelita "Mama D" Rosa; grandchildren, Deziree Flores, Izik "Peewee" Adams, Jr., Azaria "Zaza" Adams, Natalie Mendoza, Nathaniel "Nano" Mendoza, Nicholas Mendoza, Malachi Mendoza, Elijah Adams, Moses Adams, and Gianna "Sunshine" Adams; great granddaughter, Bella; five brothers, Larry, Luis, Ricky, Manuel, and Ernest and two sisters, Suzy and Nancy. Martin was preceded in death by his sister, Linda; Nephews, Matthew Adams, and Michael Gonzales, and grandparents, Mama and Papa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
