Mario Contreras, Jr.

Mario Contreras, Jr. of Brownfield passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 40. Mario, Jr. was born on January 13, 1986, in Liberty, Texas to Mario Contreras, Sr and Maria Louisa Moreno. Mario was a great man, he was a vary kindhearted person that would help anyone with any task at hand, he was consider a local handyman, always willing to fix what he could. Mario was known to be a real jokester; he was very funny. He enjoyed music, especially rock and roll, he loved singing and dancing also. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and played handball as much as he could.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his father, Mario Contreras, Sr,; siblings, Sally Bazan and husband Arthur, Maria Contreras, Matthew Lee Contreras and Mike Contreras and wife Caitlin; grandmother, Guillermina Hernandez and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

Mario is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Louisa Moreno, grandfather, Jose Luis Moreno, grandmother Anita Contreras, Uncle, Johnny Moreno, aunt, Oralia Garcia, and cousin, Paul Simon Miranda.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral homes Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Homes Chaple, 1211 Lubbock, Road, Brownfield, Texas. Burial will follow at the Brownfield Cemetery.
