Maria Ramirez

Maria Ramirez, a lifelong resident of Brownfield, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on April 11, 1945, to Perfecto and Eduarda (Zuniga) Grimaldo. Maria enjoyed working with her rose bushes and hollyhocks out in the yard, baking cookies and playing bingo. She was a devoted mother to her nine sons. She loved spending time with her family and friends she will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her sons, Pedro Mendez, Jr., Luis Mendez, Jose Mendez and wife Dana, Tomas Mendez and wife Kelli, Juan Mendez and wife Angie, Pablo Mendez, Fernando Mendez and wife Amy, David Mendez, Raymond Mendez, and Jerry Ramirez and wife Dina; Brothers, Jr. Rojas and wife Beatrice and Raul Rojas and wife Olga; 29 grandchildren with one on the way and 21 great grandchildren with one on the way, and several extended family and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Perfecto Grimaldo and Eduarda Rojas, husbands, Pedro Mendez, Sr and Pedro Ramirez; son, Rodolfo Mendez; grandson, Jeremiah Mendez; granddaughter, Marina Mendez; two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, 1211 Lubbock Rd, Brownfield, Texas. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1902 Levelland Hwy, Brownfield, Texas, burial will follow at the Brownfield Cemetery.
