Margarita Cantu, 84, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Kingsville, Texas to Willie and Agapita (Gonzales) Flores. She married Jose Cantu on September 9, 1961, in Raymondville, Texas and together the began their family. Margarita was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, she will be missed by all that knew her. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jose Cantu; daughter, Melinda Cantu; son, Mario Cantu and wife Bertha all of Lubbock; four sisters, Esperanza Dominguez, Anita Flores, Amelia Lopez, and Adela Peña; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Agapita Flores, daughter Leticia Cantu; brothers, Willie and Samuel Flores and sister Consuelo Samaripa. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
