Margaret Correa, 72, of New Home, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was born the 5th out of 12 children on October 19, 1952 in Harlingen, Texas to the late Guilibaldo and Santos (Vasquez) Atkinson. Margaret met Ramon Correa, and they cherished 53 years together in this life. They married in Lubbock, but settled down in New Home, Texas where they raised their family and began their own business. Margaret was a woman of many talents, she loved to care for others as she was a nurses aid in home health and Methodist Hospital for many years. She also helped with her husband's Pump Service business, by managing the accounts and administrative duties. Margaret also loved to garden, especially her red roses, but also cooking. Her favorite saying was "Nothing fancy, but it hits the spot!" her family said. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. Margaret never met a stranger, always finding someone new to meet and talk with.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ramon; sons, Steven Correa and Ramon Correa, Jr. and wife Stacey; siblings, Edward Atkinson, Marie Elena Wiggins, Guilibaldo Atkinson, Jr., Elizabeth Martinez, Coleen Atkinson; grandchildren, Jeffery Aldrighetti, Dimitri Correa, Samantha Correa, Efstathia Correa, and Savannah Correa; sister-in-laws, Frances and Olga; Numerous extended family members and friends.

Margaret was proceeded in death by her parents, Guilibaldo and Santos Atkinson; daughter, Jolynn Brown; Siblings, Urbano Atkinson, Adela Ramos, Alfredo Atkinson, Janie Ramirez, Braulia Schipper, and Pete Atkinson.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, Lubbock. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
