Obituary

Kurt Martin Brandt, 70, of Lubbock, Texas died on November 28, 2024 at Covenant Medical Center.

Kurt was born to Daniel and Vera Brandt in Trenton, NJ on November 28, 1954. He graduated from Greendale High School, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He held a MBA from Webster University. While at UW Madison, he joined the Air Force ROTC and upon graduation began his service as an Accounting and Finance Officer, eventually retiring as a Comptroller. He served at Edwards AFB in California; Iraklion AS, Crete, Greece; Reese AFB, Lubbock, Texas; Randolph AFB, San Antonio; Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas; Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas and Kadena AFB, Okinawa Japan. After retiring from the Air Force Kurt went into the school finance business working for United ISD in Laredo and San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District before finishing his career at DeSoto ISD. Kurt loved to play golf and read Louis L'Amour books. He enjoyed all types of sports, but especially football, which became a passion for him and his girls. He was the most faithful and supportive band dad and soccer fan for his girls.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judi; his daughters, Amy, Andrea and Anna; his brother Rex; and his grandson Jason.

A local memorial and a graveside service at the National Cemetery in DFW will be arranged after the first of the year. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations may be made in Kurt's memory to your local Meals on Wheels.
