Julia Escobedo

Julia G. Escobedo, 83, of Shallowater, was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by loving family. She was born in Edcouch, Texas on June 19, 1942, to Antonio and Lucinda (Alvarado) Garcia. Julia was a hard-working woman, she worked many years for Texas Tech. She was a woman of strong faith; she was proud of sharing her faith in God with anyone. For many years, she has been a Guadalupana and member at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Shallowater. Julia was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she will be deeply missed by all those that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Palmira Orozco (Michael Teague), Sandra Torres, Maribel Perez (Daniel Perez, Jr.), Ida Escobedo (Luis Guevara), Lucinda Marie Escobedo; siblings, Josefina Garcia (Lorenzo), and Graciela Garcia; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Jose; parents, Antonio and Lucinda Garcia; son, Cristobal Escobedo; sisters, Alicia Zuniga, and Martha Salinas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be held at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Shallowater on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
