Juanita Callahan-Caro was born on August 31, 1953 in Findlay, Ohio to Juan and Consuelo Navarro. Juanita passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 29, 2021. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and wife. She always did her best to teach us to love like Jesus, to sit with the outcast and wonderers. To give to the needy and to love everyone. She loved a game of pool, and she was amazing at it. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Consuelo Navarro; husband, Austin James Callahan; sister, Manuela Gonzalez, and Dolores Hernandez; nephew, Ruben Gonzalez, niece, Anjelica Janey Torrez. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Randy Caro of Wolfforth; three children, Maria Librada (Libby) Gruenwald and husband Mike of New Braunfels, TX, Austin James Callahan, Jr. and wife Sarah of New Braunfels, TX, and Dolores Kay Callahan of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren, Frankie D. Villarreal and husband Alan of Levelland, TX, Alexis Nguyen and husband Ivan of Levelland, TX Austin Callahan III of Seguin, TX, Joey Pena of Plainview, TX, Steven Dowell of New Braunfels, TX Vivianna Gomez, of Levelland, TX and Edward Dowell of New Braunfels, TX; six great-grandchildren, Alexander, Niko, Princess Aviana, Ivan, Alan, and Mateo; siblings, Santos Navarro, Francisco Navarro, Esteban Navarro, Juan Jose Navarro, Isabel Navarro, Anjelica Ruiz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on December 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Levelland, with burial to follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
