Josephine "Josie" Astorga, 68, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Josie was born on November 4, 1952 to the late Antonio and Lola (Ojeda) Moreno. She married Elias Astorga in 1980 and began their family. Josie was known to be referred to as "Grandma" by so many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Elias; children, Andrew Gonzales and wife Amanda, Jo Ann G. Rodriguez and husband Rodolfo. Rebecca M. Gonzales, Dorsey Gonzales and husband Eric Estrada, Veronica M. Astorga; siblings, Hijinio, Angela, Nati, Julia, Ray, Mary, Nieves; grandchildren, Annette, Candy, Adrian, Gabby, Miranda, Jose, Marina, Eddie, Ana, Eric Jr, Eli, and Angelina. Twenty-two great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Lola Moreno Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 4:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on October 23, 2021 at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
