Jose Oscar Sifuentes, Jr.

Jose Oscar Sifuentes, Jr., 68 of Brownfield, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, He was born on February 18, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose Sifuentes, Sr and Rafaila (Padron) Sifuentes. He met and married the love of his life, Maria Martinez, they have been raising their family together since the mid 80’s. Jose loved being a welder and farmer, he worked in off shore drilling as a welder in Corpus Cristi, then relocated to Lamesa where he worked for Bruton Mfg., as a welder for several years. He moved to Welch and began farming in the 90’s into the early 2000’s, then moved back to Lamesa where he farmed from 2002-2008, until an accident that then allowed him to retire. During his retirement he enjoyed watching westerns, he was also a history buff. Jose was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maria C. Sifuentes: children, Alberto Escajeda and wife Beatrice, Jose Escajeda and wife Stephanie, Griselda Stone and husband Robert, Imelda Escajeda, Simon Sifuentes, Timothy Sifuentes and wife Heidi, Roy Sifuentes, and Jessica Setliff: siblings, Sofia Duncan and husband Charles, Manuel Sifuenties, Ruben Sifuentes and wife Debby, Norma Lopez and husband Tony, Luis Sifuentes and wife Angela, Rudy Sifuentes, and wife Margaret, Rosa Rane, and husband Keith, Tammy Sifunetes, Janie Pfaffenberger and husband Charllie, and Michael Sifuentes; 30 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Rafaila Sifunemte, and brother, Simon Sifuentes.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a time to share memories at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home, 1211 Lubbock Rd, Brownfield, Texas 79316. Burial will follow at the Brownfield Cemetery.
