Jose "Joseph" Luis Gonzales, Jr., 47, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024; He was born on July 16, 1977 in Slaton, Texas to the late Jose Gonzales Sr. and Linda Garcia. Joseph had a love for many things, he enjoyed watching the Raiders play football, drawing, and reading, and loved to listen to Christian music. He had a hard past life, but in 2019 he was Baptized, and he made the decision to turn his life completely around dedicate it to God. Joseph was accepted into a ministerial college program and had just begun classes in August, he was dedicated to learning about the Gospel and beginning a path in the Ministry. He met Esmeralda Maldonado, and they began dating in 2018, and later married on August 11, 2022. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, he will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Esmeralda Gonzales; children, Linda Gonzales, Anastacia Gonzales, Enrika Gonzales, Lyrissa Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, III; brothers, Michael, Jonathan, and Gabriel Gonzales; grandchildren, Asiah, Lucas, Viviana, Andy; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Joseph was proceeded in death by his parents, Jose Gonzales, Sr and Linda Gonzales; maternal grandparents, Adolfo Garcia and Maria Garcia Macias; paternal grandparents, Apolonia Gonzales and Ignacio Gonzales.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas.
