Jose "Lalo" Cantu, 85, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 8, 1936, in Raymondville, Texas to Lucas and Paulita (Lopez) Cantu. He married Margarita Cantu on September 9, 1961, in Raymondville, Texas and together they began their family. Jose was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, he will be missed by all that knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his; daughter, Melinda Cantu; son, Mario Cantu and wife Bertha all of Lubbock; one brother, Eliberto Cantu; five grandchildren, Stephanie Regalado, Joel Cantu, Alex Regalado, Mark Anthony Cantu and Jacob Regalado and two great grandchildren, Kaian and Noah Ramirez. Jose was preceded in death by his parents Lucas and Paulita Cantu; wife, Margarita Cantu; daughter Leticia Cantu; and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
