Joe Michael “Mike” Organ, 74, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, following a recurrence of colon cancer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Saunders Organ (d. 2009). He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marilyn Kay Gregory-Organ of Tyler, TX; daughter and son-in-law Jeana and Mark Culbert of Shallowater; sister and brother-in-law Tonya and Johnny King of Monahans, TX; and step-daughters Meagan Gregory of Los Angeles, CA, Patricia Gregory Underwood of Garland, TX, and Sarah Gregory of Tyler, TX. He was cherished by four grandchildren—Trent Paape, Hannah Underwood, Naomi Underwood, and Micah Underwood—who lovingly called him “Pops.”
Joe Mike was known for his deep faith, tireless work ethic, and generous spirit. Above all, he hoped those who knew him would come to know a relationship with the Lord.
The family expresses gratitude to Kindful Hospice in Tyler and Hospice of the South Plains in Lubbock for their compassionate care during his final months. Per Joe’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Joe had a deep love for children’s homes; remembrances may be sent to Arms of Hope or New Mexico Christian Children’s Home.
