Jesse "Chuy" Anthony Suniga, Sr., of Shallowater, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the age of 53. He was born on April 13, 1969, in Lubbock to Antonio and Oralia (Contreras) Suniga. Chuy graduated from Shallowater High School in 1988. Chuy worked for Lubbock County serving with the roads and bridges department, and with Lubbock Labs as a concrete inspector. He enjoyed fishing, bar-b-que and helping St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church Jamaica's, where he was a member of the parish. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and University of Texas Longhorn fan. Chuy was a man known by many. He was always there when needed and preformed selfless acts for others all of the time. He was loved by the community in which he served. Chuy was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, he will be missed by all that knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his four sons, Jesse Suniga, Jr., Zachary Suniga, Brandon Massie, and Bryson Massie; mother, Oralia Suniga; one brother, Robert Suniga; one sister Michelle Vergara, and one grandson, Julian Suniga. Chuy was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Suniga; brother, Jason Suniga; brother-in-law, Jason Garcia and grandparents, Roberto and Hilaria Contreras and Nico and Carlota Suniga. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at 6626 CR 6260, Shallowater, Texas 79363, Chuy has asked for a true celebration of his life, please come and join us in honoring his wishes. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
