Jesse Casias

Jessie Gonzales Casias, 88, of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was born in Pleasanton, Texas to Bartolo and Dominga (Gonzalez) Casias. Just like his father, Jesse had the gift of music. He played the piano, guitar, accordion, bass, and tambora. He also liked to dance—especially to the song "La Puerta Negra."

Jesse came to love Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 5, 1966. He always defended the truth found in the Bible, and he loved sharing it with others. He enjoyed going to preach in rural areas. He was a good, kind, and hardworking husband. He was always willing to help. Jesse was the only son, and he loved all his sisters very much. Jesse married the love of his life, Irma Amelia on March 20, 1982. He was very responsible with his children and always enjoyed being with them and their families. Jesse worked for the City of Lubbock for 29 years.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Irma Casias; children, Abel Casias (Norma Casias), Adam Casias (Elizabeth Casias), Gloria Angélica Fuentes (Luis Fuentes Jr.), Lillia Salazar (René Salazar), Irma Pantoja (Joe Pantoja); siblings, Linda Lopez, and Margie Polanco; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Jesse was preceded in death by his daughter, Bertha Alicia Casias; parents, Bartolo and Dominga Casias; sisters, Emilia Cervantes, Tomasa Cervantes, Maria Díaz, Antonina Diaz, Lupe Moreno and Jobita Aguilera.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home, 1928 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79411. Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery, Lubbock, Texas.
