Janie Castillo

Janie Villanueva Castillo, 73, of Lamesa passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026. She was born on September 13, 1953, in Taylor, Texas to Nedio and Placida (Chavez) Villanueva. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Janie had a very outgoing personality, and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Ted Castillo; children, Roxanne Mata and husband Michael, Ramiro Rodriquez, Robert Lee Sanchez and wife Tanya, and Melissa Sanchez; siblings, Dora Bracken, Mike Villanueva and wife Elisa, Gloria Uriegas and husband Daniel, Diana Villanueva, Nedio Villanueva, Jr. and Olga Caceres and husband Roberto; Grandchildren, Isaiah Marquez, Joshua Marquez, Sean Mata, Nikki Serena Rodriquez, Brittni Lessette Rodriquez, Serena Yazmyn Rodriquez, Isaac G. Rodriquez, Bryan Sanchez, Samuel Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez, Rocki Sanchez, Lexus Sanchez, Gabriella Sanchez, Ashley Miramontez, Alyssa Montez, Brody Stumpert, Ariel Bordayo and Nicholes Bordayo

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Nedio and Placida Villanueva; sisters, Anita Villanueva and Lily Acosta; two grandsons, Brandon Sanchez and Abraham Perez, III.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral home Chapel, 1928 34th street, Lubbock, Texas 79411. Burial will follow services at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, Woodrow, Texas.
