Obituary

Janie Alcorta, 87, of Lubbock passed away on December 25, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 7, 1934 to the late Juan S. Sotello and Bruna Garcia in San Antonio, Texas. Janie was a great cook, who enjoyed cooking all the time, you almost never saw her without her apron on. She also loved to dance and sip on her Milwaukee's Best. Janie was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Louis Alcorta; grandson, Joe Luis Alcorta, and wife Christina; brothers, John and Celestino Sotello; sister, Consuela Perales; nephew, Joe Sotello, and wife Florinda; great-grandchildren, Joe Richard Alcorta, ad Santana Alcorta; six great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Manuel Alcorta and family; sister-in-law, Yolanda Alcorta, and family. Janie was preceded in death by her parents; children, Jesus and Joe Luis Alcorta, Sr. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 4:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Cremation is under the care of House of Angels Funeral Home.
