Janice Ann Short, 65, of Shallowater, TX passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was born on February 12, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas to John Louis Martin, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Bilyeu. Janice was full of laughter and was always cracking the jokes. She was a fun-loving person who lightened any room she walked into. Janice had a gypsy soul, and never met a stranger. She had a love for playing darts and won her fair share of local tournaments. Janice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Stacy Hayes and husband John, Andrea Seabolt, Mitchell Seabolt and wife, Natacia, Justin Seabolt, Cheyenne Ramsey, Frank Short and wife, Sherry, and Duffy Short, Jr. and wife, Renee; father, John Martin, Sr. and wife, Sue; sisters, Donna Lyons and husband, David, Rebecca Renaud and husband, Jim; twenty grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Duffy Short Sr., mother, Elizabeth Martin; brother, Steve Martin, John Martin, Jr.; and sister, Rhonda Leslie. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
