James "Jim' Doty, 73, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday April 15, 2024. He was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Curtis Ray and Elizabeth Magdelena (Rehder) Doty. He graduated from Grand Island High School and then went on to serve in the United States Army for four years, later serving in the National Guard. He worked at Chief Construction in Grand Island, NE. also at Leprino Foods and Henningsen Foods both in Ravenna, NE. Jim met and Married Na Li on July 8, 2003 and they moved to Lubbock, and has called Lubbock home for over 20 years. Jim enjoyed watching movies, and playing computer games, and electronics of all kinds. He was adored by his pets and had many beloved dogs and cats over the years.

Survivors include his wife Na Doty, Stepson David Sun, daughter Jaime Feldman, granddaughters Aria Budden, Ava Feldman and Alana Feldman, sisters Carol Jean (Doty) Clampitt, Tina (Doty) Andreasen and Michael Andreasen, Brother Jon Doty and Deborah (Watson) Doty, sisters-in-law Mae (Audette) Doty, Sue (Ponton) and Chuck Pavelka, brother-in-law Bernard Vaudrin, and many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

Jim was preceded by his Parents Curtis and Elizabeth Doty, sisters Erma (Doty) Vleck, Mary Beth (Doty) Vaudrin, brothers Roy Doty and Ronald Doty, Niece Allison Andreasen, and brothers-in-law Allan Clampitt and James Vleck.

Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
