Herlinda (Herrera) Nunez, 81 of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1943, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan and Julia (Martinez) Herrera. Herlinda married the love of her life, Jose Nunez in 1958, in Mexico. Together they began their family. Herlinda loved being a homemaker, being able to raise her family and instill great family values. She enjoyed crocheting for her friends and family, animals, and flowers. She was Catholic by faith. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Jose Nunez; children, Javier Nunez and wife Ellana, Manuel Nunez and wife Sylvia, Ismael Nunez and Yolanda, Humberto Nunez and wife Elida, Martin Nunez and wife Teresa, Teresa Zapata and husband Mitilde, Lucia Guerra, Felipe Nunez and wife Lucia, Juan Nunez and wife Alicia, Refugio Nunez and wife Chayo, Maria Gomez and husband Ramero, Julia Nunez and partner Fernando Vasquez, Jose Nunez and wife Eliana, and Ricardo Nunez and wife Angelica; 52 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren; sister, Elvida Terrones; half-brother, Pascual, and half-sister, Lupe Herrera; and several extended family and friends.

Herlinda was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Julia Herrera, three brothers, Juan Herrera, Narcico Herrera, and Antonio Herrera.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, 1928 34th Street, Lubbock, Tx 79411. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 908 Ave J, Shallowater, Texas 79363. Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery
