Our sweet Mother went to be with our Lord on the most beautiful day of "love and friendship" – Sunday, February 14, 2021. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born July 29, 1929, in El Pueblito, Chihuahua, Mexico, and lived in the Lubbock area for most of her adult life.
Her parents lived in Mexico and preceded her in death. She had four brothers and three sisters who also preceded her in death and one surviving sister. She was married and had eight children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Anaya, and two sons, Eddie Anaya and Norberto Anaya. She has six surviving daughters: Guadalupe Marquez (Hector), Ymelda Anaya, Leticia Anaya, Yolanda Pedroza (Mario), and Dominga Anaya, all of Lubbock, Texas, and Connie Anaya of San Antonio, Texas. She leaves an abundance of 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren that will cherish her forever.
She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Shallowater, Texas, where she was also a member of the Guadalupanas Society.
Guadalupe leaves behind a legacy full of love for her family and a strong belief in God and our Virgen Mary, Mother of God.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. with the rosary being recited at 3:00 P.M. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, cremation services under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
