Feliz "Felix" Cortez, 81, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021. He was born on November 21, 1939, in Uvalde, Texas to the late Evaristo and Natividad (Hernandez) Cortez. Those left to cherish his memory are his eight children, Marcy Davila, Joe Guerrero, Gabriel Cortez, Xavier Cortez, Rebecca Rubio, Gina Gonzales, Rachel Cortez and Felix Cortez, Jr.: five siblings, Robert and wife Sylvia of Lubbock, John and wife Juanita of Lubbock, Freddy and wife Berta of Ralls, Elmo Cortez of Lubbock, and Delia Moreno of Lubbock, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Felix is preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo and Natividad Cortez; brother, Sunny Cortez; two daughters, Brenda Cortez and Mary Olcay and great grandson, Mark Guerrero. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at Thrive Family Church, 4315 Ironton Ave, Lubbock, Texas 79407. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. also at Thrive Family Church with burial to follow at the Idalou Cemetery, Idalou, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donation be made to the "Memorial Fund" at Thrive Family Church.
