Felipe "Phill" Soliz, 51, of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1971 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Benjamin and Cornelia (Caberea) Soliz, Sr. Phill was the life of the party, he enjoyed being around people and family time. He also had a love for family games, like cornhole, and even poker. Phill had artistic talents, and also enjoyed painting and doing jigsaw puzzles. He was a Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys Fan. Phill married Christina on May 16, 1992, in Brownfield, Texas and they began their journey together. He was a loving husband, father, and brother, and will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Christina; daughter, Gabrellia Rios and husband, Rojelio; siblings, Bobby Soliz, Sr. and wife, Janie, Benjamin Soliz, Jr. and wife, Lydia, Ida Soliz Garza and husband, Jacinto Jr., Norma Gutierrez and husband, Manuel, Melinda Sosa and husband, Alex; several extended family members and friends.
Phill was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leo Soliz.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
