Obituary

Beloved brother, husband, and father, Emilio Chavez, 83, passed away on his birthday, June 29, 2025. He was born in Elsa, Texas. He married Pauline Calderon Chavez on December 7, 1974.

He developed a high-caliber work ethic at an early age. As a migrant farm worker, he worked in the fields after school and shined shoes in town on Saturdays. He received a degree from South Plains College, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Los Angeles, and a Master's degree from Liberty University. He held several public service and law enforcement positions, including deputy sheriff, detention officer, and security guard.

He was most proud of his family. Emilio, the eldest of seven children, embraced the roles of big brother and mentor to his siblings: Antonio Chavez, Felly Puente, Lupe Chavez, Gloria Campos, Jaime Chavez, and Joseph Angel Chavez. He adored his wife, Paula, for 50 years. He loved his children and all his grandchildren. He was known for handing out a dollar bill to his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
