Eliseo Rocha, 81, of Smyer passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on January 4, 1941, in Martindale, Texas to Miguel and Guadalupe (Arzola) Rocha. Eliseo moved to Smyer in 1955 along with his family. He met and married the love of his life, Virginia Torrez on February 15, 1969, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Lubbock, and together they began their family. Mr. Rocha was a farmer, retiring from James Stroope and Ernest Prices farms after 30 years, he then began to work for the Smyer schools as a dishwasher in the cafeteria. Mr. Rocha and his late wife were pillars in the Smyer community, together they attended all of the local sporting events and cheered for each student as if they were their own. In his younger years he enjoyed a good game of bingo, a garage sale and a great game of baseball, he was an avid Yankees fan. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Eliseo Rocha, Jr. and wife Laura and Enrique Rocha; three siblings, Salvador Rocha and wife Ester, Consuelo Gutierrez and husband Isidro, and Sanjuana Caudillo and husband Sam, and several extend family and friends.

Eliseo was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents, Miguel and Guadalupe Rocha; two brothers, Manuel Rocha and Juan Jose Rocha, and one sister, Guadalupe Stevens.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 2202 Upland, Ave, Lubbock, Texas with burial to follow at the Smyer Cemetery.
