Elisa Reyna, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1936 in Tyler, Texas to the late Rosalio and Carmen (Dominguez) Reyna. Elisa was a woman of many talents, she was a very hard worker who always found a new task to conquer. In her younger years, she raised her family here in Lubbock, and she was a founding member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she also served as a Guadalupana. Elisa loved to pray, she always prayed her rosary, but she prayed with people and for people, especially over her children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Elisa was known for her wisdom, her children recall many times where she gave them advice on life to be successful and honorable. She raised her children to be just that, honorable, forgiving, loving, and she led by example as she always put others first. Handling life the best she could with what she was delt. She was a fighter, never giving up, and always found a lesson to learn or teach with those moments. Elisa loved her country, she was very patriotic.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joe E. Perez (Mary), Steven Perez (Rosa Anne), Nick Perez, Theresa Perez Bland (Jimmy), Alfonso Reyna Perez (Sandra Anne); Brother, Alfredo Morales; grandchildren, Leslie Kay, Joe Jr., Angelica, Samantha Kay, Julian, Ashley, Kasmir, Kamry, Olive; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Aurelia, Olivia, Declan, Juniper, Jade, Shawn, Trey, Kieran.
Elisa was proceeded in death by her parents, Rosalio and Carmen Reyna; and eight brothers.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
