Dolores (Contreras) Zapata, 87, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was born on August 9, 1935, to the late Manuel and Delphina (Morales) Contreras in Knox City, Texas. Dolores married Cenaido Zapata on July 3, 1971, in Plainview, Texas. They began their family and later moved to Lubbock. She had a special love for the old classic music and enjoyed listening to the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Dolores was a loving wife and mother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her best friend and daughter, Alice Zapata;

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Cenaido Zapata; parents, Manuel and Delphina Contreras.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
