David R. Miranda, Sr., 78, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1944, in Floresville, Texas to Ventura Miranda and Augustina Rodriguez. He married Maria Hernandez on January 30, 1966, in Lubbock and together they began their family. He was welder by trade and a catholic by faith. David loved to cook for his family and was well known for having food, including his famous fresh tortillas ready for his grandchildren as they arrived home from school every day, they meant the world to him. David spent his spare time tending to his plants and rose bushes. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Maria Miranda; children, Tina Gonzalez, David Miranda, Jr. and wife Erica, Margarita Miranda, Carlos Miranda all of Lubbock, Tx; one sister, Suzie Miranda of San Antonio, TX.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ventura Miranda and Augustina Rodriguez; one brother Tiburcio "Butch" Miranda; one sister, Carmel Lopez; son-in-law, Armando Gonzalez, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
