D'Aun Lucero

D’Aun B. Lucero, 86, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully at home on, Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1939 in Lovington, New Mexico to Paul and Bessie (Hardin) Young. D’Aun spent many years in Lovington, graduated high school, and began working in the beauty industry for a few years. Until she met her first husband Sam. They began their family together before he passed at a young age. Later in life, D’Aun met and married Fred Lucero, enjoying almost 40 years blending their lives together. D’Aun was a simple woman, who loved her family, and enjoyed all the simple things in life. She never met a stranger. D’Aun was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Stacy Lorenz (Jonathan), Samra Hill, and Paul Rush; stepchildren, Freddie, Lynette, and Vickie; grandchildren, Trevor Nuckols, Jon Paul Lorenz, Eric Hill, Taner Hill, Sierra, Seiko, Amalie, and Madelyn; and 14 great-grandchildren.

D’Aun was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bessie Young; husbands, Sam Rush, and Fred Lucero; brother Olin Young.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
