D.J. Turner, a lifelong resident of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the age of 65. He was born on September 14, 1956, to Fred Willie Turner, Sr. and Addie Pearl (Patrick) Turner. D.J. had a passion to serve his community, he enjoyed helping others take care of the lawns, working on cars and lawnmowers. He was a very outgoing person, he loved everybody he met, and they would know that for sure when he gave them a hard time and joked around with them. He married Michelle Chain on March 6, 1999, in Lubbock. He was a faithful member of the Maranatha Tabernacle Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Michelle Turner; children, Seretha Turner, Tasha Turner, Keith Mills, Angelique Mills Doyle Mills, Richard and Raymond; nephews, Joseph Turner and Freddy Turner; four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Gabriel, Elise, and Jacob, and several extended family and friends.
D.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Turner, Sr. and Addie Turner, brother Fred Turner, Jr., two grandchildren, Kayden Luke, and Alicia and nephew, John.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor, Kevin Vander-Plas officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, Woodrow, Texas.
