Consuelo Rodriguez, 93, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Consuelo was born on December 14, 1932, in Hondo, Texas to Abaristo and Juanita (Camprino) Hernandez. Consuelo married the love of her life, Juan Rodriguez, Sr., on September 20, 1958, in Crosbyton, Texas, they began their family and lived a life of love until his passing in 1986. Consuelo was a very caring and loving person, she was always cooking for her family and friends, she was a hairdresser, seamstress and gardener. She loved quilting and crocheting also. She was catholic by faith and served as Cursillista, after attending the Cursillo de Cristiandad retreat. Consuelo was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Elvira Cruz, Alice Trjo, Mary Rodriguez and husband Juvensio, Juan Rodriguez, Jr., Esther Perea and husband Ramon, Margarita Perez, and Delia Lopez and husband Alex; twenty-two grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; siblings, Alfredo Hernandez and wife Julia and Jesse Hernandez and wife Connie.
Consuelo was preceded in death by her parents, Abaristo and Juanita Herenandez, husband, Juan Rodriguez, Sr., great great grandson, Kellen Jace Silva, two sisters, Natalie Rodriguez and Petra Martinez, and one brother, Jardo Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, 1928 34th Street, Lubbock, Tx 79411. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church,3106 66th St. #100, Lubbock, Texas 79424, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Texas.
