Charles Ray "Trey" Daves, III, a lifelong resident of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the age of 31. Trey was born on July 14, 1991, to Charles "Shorty" Daves, II and Sheri Gwin. He was a friend to everyone that knew him and even to those that did not know him, because he never knew a stranger, he always made it his mission to make you his new friend. People were drawn to him because of his charisma and humor, but they stayed because of his ability to make you feel special and heard. Trey had a personality larger than life. Trey was always up for a good song no matter if it was starting a "Flash Mob" in the middle of the mall, or just him walking down the street on his own, he loved to sing and did not care how loud it was, Trey was known as the "Singing Bartender". He loved to play the piano, even when the signs posted said "Do not touch the piano", to him these were words of encouragement to play the piano. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Malik Manuel; mother, Sheri Gwin; sisters, Samantha Henderson and husband Allen, Tabatha Johnson and husband Tristen; brothers Chase Allen and Beal Simmons, III; grandparents, Mike and Gail Walker and Mike Quisenberry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Trey was preceded in death by his father, Shorty Daves; grandmother Janet Daves; uncles, Sean Scoggin and Terry Gwin.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Canyon United Methodist Church, 217 FM 1729, Lubbock. A small reception will follow in the church fellowship hall Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
