Bruce Richard Duty, 85 of Shallowater, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, surrounded but his loving family. He was born on November 7, 1937, in Walker Kansas to Cecil and Mildred (Williamson) Duty. He married the love of his life Frances Gallagher on October 31, 1958, in Lubbock and together they began their family. Mr. Duty proudly served in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. Bruce had a very outgoing personality and was joking around with folks; he was such a people person. He loved tinkering with different projects, working with wood and playing chess. He was also an avid history buff, he enjoyed watching war movies, along with other popular 007 and pink panther movies. Bruce also enjoyed time reading a good nonfiction book about the different wars and spent time studying his bible. Bruce will be missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Frances Duty; four children, Diana Wilkins and husband Greg, Tim Duty and wife Emma, David Duty and wife Breanne, Leigh Wolfe and husband James; sister, Eloise Purrington; 12 grandchildren, Amber, Paul, Ariana, Angel, Gabriel, Alexa, Emily, Megan, Josh, Shane, Ava, Aiden; ten great grandchildren, Azara, Isidro, Krystyne, Kristopher, Kamron, Ashlyn, Bryson, Addisyn, Adeline; and four great-great grandchildren; Zay, Molly, Cassidy, and Daisy.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mildred Duty; five siblings, Francelle, Loraine, David, Bill, and Sharon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ropesville Cemetery in Ropesville, Texas.
