Billy Lloyd Burton, 77, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 18, 1948, in Elwood, Indiana to William and Mable (Femon) Burton. Billy joined the United States Army in 1968, during his time of services he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnan Service Metal, Vietnam Campaign Metal, Army Commendation Metal. He married Sandy Findley in the late 80’s in Lubbock, together they blended their families and started life as one big family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and playing golf. He also enjoyed bird watching, especially when Sandy was the one responsible for feeding them. Billy enjoyed playing games on his phone and would reject a call if it interrupted a good hand of poker.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife, Sandy Burton; children, Billy Burton, Steven Burton, Benjamin Burton and wife Tonya, Patrick Burton, Shelia Findley and Sean Burton; grandchildren, David Bartlett, Brianna Hagood, Aiden Burton and six additional grandchildren; two great grandchildren, siblings, Randy, Linda, Kathy, Dee, Theresa,; brother-in-law, Henry, and several other extended family members and friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel Burton, siblings, Ruth, Max, and Skip, and sister-in-law, Marie.
The family has honored Billy’s wishes and there will be no services at this time. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
