Avelia Salinas, 79, of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was born on October 29, 1942, in Helena, Texas to Frank and Trinidad (Navejar) Garcia. She attended Karnes City Schools. She met the love of her life, Manuel Pineda, and married him on January 30, 2010, however they have been together for forty-five years. She loved shopping and spending time with her family and friends and was a wonderful grandmother, she never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Manuel Pineda; five children, Pete Salinas, Sue Ann Escobedo, Ronnie Salinas and wife Nancy, Jeffery Salinas and wife Lorrie, and Melissa Salinas; two brothers, Abel Garcia and Rene Garcia; one sister, Gloria Verhine; 22 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Avelia was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Trinidad Garcia, and two sons, Donnie Salinas and Rick Salinas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 4:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Worship Center, 1102 70th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79412, with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, Woodrow, Texas.
