Augustino H. Gutierrez, 98 of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021. He was born on September 22, 1922 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Matilde and Maria (Hernandez) Gutierrez. Augustino served in the United States Army. He married Basilia Rodriguez on January 22, 1949. He was employed by the City of Lubbock Water Department for over 23 years. Augustino was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where he served as an usher for serval years, he was a loyal volunteer for over 15 years with the South Plains Food Bank. After retirement from the City of Lubbock, he began his own landscaping business. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 71 years: Basilia Gutierrez, seven children: Eufemia Gutierrez, Librado Gutierrez, Frank Gutierrez, Juan Gutierrez, Paul Gutierrez, Edward Gutierrez, and Teresa Gomez, two sisters: Minga and Juanita, 27 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Matilde and Maria Gutierrez, three children: Jenoveva, Daniel and Augustion, Jr., and six siblings: Valinte, Juan, Luis, Nancy, Alejos, and Magdaleno. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 5:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
